Good pieces of literature express beautifully the writers' thoughts and feelings thus providing a source of inspiration for the readers/listeners.

Riddle, riddle that keeps me thinking ..
what's the answer that I am searching?

Riddles are puzzling questions that made one think. It makes discussions light and enjoyable. Riddles are also mind-exercise during playtime.

  2. Bulag, Pipi at Bingi by Fredie Aguilar is a great song depicting real life situations.

    (1) Bulag ( blind )-
Blind means unable to see as it is in the dictionary.
In our community today, blind persons are those who can't see the situation of our country. They don't even care.
Ordinarily, blind persons are also those who became blind (not literal) because of certain reasons like too much love. They can't see the mistakes of other persons or maybe they don't want to give attention.

    (2) Pipi ( mute )-
Mute people do not have the voice to speak.
For its conotation, they are people who are afraid to speak up their thoughts and feelings because they are not sure what effect it might bring or maybe they don't have the guts.

    (3) Bingi ( deaf )-
    Deaf persons can't hear.
People are said to be " nagtetengang-kawali" if they actually hear what other persons are saying but ignore it anyway.

    "Nobody's perfect."
Everyone has their own flaws and weaknesses the same as everyone has their ability and strength.
People know what is the right thing to do, but we often do wrong things.
    It's inevitable.
Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has those days.
    Imperfection to top it all.

    "Practice makes perfect."
Even though nobody's perfect, we can find ways to make things perfect.
Like having a positive outlook in life. Looking at the advantages and good side of your situation.

    (1) the old woman ( fairy) -
Physical appearance is not that important, what matters is what's within us.
As the saying goes: "Don't judge the book by it's cover."
    (2) fisher - The fisherman looks on the inside of a man not on the appearance.
    (3) couple - people who became boastful and too much pride beacause of overflowing confidence.

Being boastful is not a good attitude.

    We should respect God's creations.

    1) captain - ever responsible being the head
    2) 6 sailors - suspicious and observer

Because of being unusual creatures of the women, the sailors were of course afraid of them and find ways to get rid of them.

I think, it's the dignity of the sailors that made them return. You have to face the consequences of what you've done.

    (1) Dogedog - a lazy man
    (2) cat ( which became cock ) - brings him fortune.
    (3) alligator - company of Dogedog who can dive longer
    (4) deer - can run faster than anyone else
    (5) mound of earth - can wrerstle
    (6) monkey - can climb higher

The story is about the Dogedog being idle. But once there's a cat that became his luck bringing him all the money. Cock-fighting is an influence of Spaniards.

Honestly, what the story's trying to suggest is not clear to me. Maybe it's just trying to show the influence of the Spaniards on natives. And since cock-fight (in my own opinion) is a sport of lazy people, it brings no good. But in Dogedog's case, it gave him wealth. And it's because of his friends/companions.

  3. It's a unique test
    An online midterm exam
    'takes twenty-four hours

Wow ! I made my very original Haiku ! It's easy though I'm not sure if it's correct. I already forgot how to make one because we tackled this when I was only second year high school in our english class. As for the subject of my haiku, I chose our midterm exam because you see it's my first time to take an examination on line. And having the time limit 24 hours is another issue. Now, I understand why you gave us such time limit. It consists only of 7 items ( I'm not sure if how many questions) and yet it took me so many hours to answer the questions.
